A case has been registered against producer Ekta Kapoor and her mother Shobha Kapoor under the POCSO Act. The matter is related to the web series ‘Gandii Baat Season 6’ of OTT platform ‘Alt Balaji‘. It is alleged that it contains objectionable scenes with a minor girl, due to which both of them are now stuck in legal trouble. Borivali’s yoga teacher Swapnil Revaji has filed a complaint at MHB police station in 2021. It is told that this series was streamed between February 2021 and April 2021 and lewd scenes with a minor girl have been filmed in it. After this complaint, a case has been registered at MHB police station under section 295-A of IPC, sections 13 and 15 of IT Act and POCSO Act.
Accusations against Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor
The complainant also approached the Borivali court. It has been alleged in the FIR that obscene scenes of a minor girl were shown in the series streamed on Alt Balaji. However, this controversial episode is not currently streaming on this app. According to the complainant, the minor girl was shown making obscene films and having obscene dialogues. In the web series, actors wearing school uniforms are also shown doing obscene acts, which is likely to cause harm to children.
Ekta-Shobha’s statement did not come
There has been no statement from Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor on this entire matter. This action took place because a major decision of the Supreme Court has come on September 27, 2024. The court had given its verdict regarding indecent content related to children, in which it has been said that creating, watching and downloading such content with children is a crime.
