Workers from northern states like Bihar and West Bengal are engaged in large numbers in Tamil Nadu from construction industry to trolley shop business. In this situation, rumors spread on social media that the northern workers living in Tamil Nadu were being attacked. The North State workers panicked as such false information was spread by wrongly linking the ‘video’ footage of some other conflict incidents. Many of them have also started leaving Tamil Nadu.
In this situation, the police has registered a case against Tamil Nadu BJP leader Annamalai in the North State workers issue. The police have taken action based on the report issued by Annamalai regarding the North State workers. Tamil Nadu Police has registered a case under 4 sections including incitement to riot. The Tamil Nadu police has also registered a case against the Bihar BJP Twitter wing for posting about North State workers.
