Delhi: Ex-minister KT Jalil hit back for Azad Kashmir reference. The Delhi Rose Avenue Court directed to file a case against Jaleel. As requested by the complainant, the court directed to file the case by imposing appropriate sections. The action taken in the complaint was reported to the court by the police.

The stand taken by the Tilak Marg police in the court was that a case had been registered in Kerala on a similar complaint and a new case could be filed if the court directed. While considering the case, the court had directed the complainant to explain why the same complaint is being filed in different states. After hearing the detailed arguments, the Rose Avenue Court directed the Tilak Marg police to file a case under appropriate sections. At the same time, the complainant stated that he will approach the court again if the charge of sedition is not filed against Jaleel.

The demand of the petitioner was that a case of sedition should be filed against Jaleel. Advocate G.S. Mani approached the court pointing out that no action was taken in the complaint lodged with the Delhi Police raising this demand. The demand was to instruct the Delhi Police to file a case. He had also explained in the petition that he has no faith in the legal proceedings in Kerala. After visiting Kashmir, Jalil’s comments on Facebook like ‘India occupied Kashmir’ and ‘Azad Kashmir’ became controversial.

Pathanamthitta Keerwaipur police have already registered a case against Jaleel for the controversial Facebook post. The FIR states that Jalil posted the Facebook post with the intention of calling for riots. Jaleel has been charged with two counts. Sections under Indian Penal Code 153B are Insult to National Honor and Prevention of Insult to National Honor Act. The FIR states that he tried to stir up rivalry by hurting sentiments by issuing a statement encouraging extremist forces.
RSS district pracharak Pramukh Arun Mohan approached the Thiruvalla Judicial Magistrate’s Court demanding a case. Although a case has been registered, the police will take further steps including recording Jalil’s statement after a detailed investigation.
