CASIO presented its new line of ClassWiz scientific calculators with greater speed, resolution, quality and innovation, adapted to the technological needs of young students in colleges, universities and higher education institutes.

CASIO introduced a new line of calculators

Tatsuro Ogawa, general manager of Casio calculators for Latin America, highlighted that the equipment has great innovations such as: a high-resolution LCD screen with 4 gradations, a new intuitive design, a menu in Spanish, as well as new functions, which include the Math Box application with the launch of dice and coins that allow the study of mathematical probability with simulations. It is also possible to view graphics via QR code. The calculator connects to ClassPad.net, an online platform with many classroom resources.

Ogawa, who arrived in Lima for this launch, highlighted that, after the pandemic period, Peru becomes the second country in the Andean region where the brand launches the ClassWiz line, which has friendly applications to encourage and stimulate student curiosity. as well as learning in the classroom.

“Our ClassWiz scientific calculators have an intuitive design and functions that make their use much easier to enjoy learning mathematics, since it incorporates texts, dialogues, and mathematical expressions in Spanish,” he stressed.

technology for back to school

The fx-82LA CW scientific calculators are ideal for primary and secondary students, as they have a menu with icons and texts in Spanish, organized by application, which makes routine calculations easier for school students.

On the other hand, the fx-570LA CW and fx-991LA CW models are designed for high school and university students and include advanced functions such as: integrals, derivatives, complex numbers, N-based numeral systems, equations and systems of equations, matrices , vectors, statistical inequalities and probability distributions, among others.

“The new ClassWiz line has intuitive menus. By using icons, instead of abbreviated texts, the calculator is easier to understand and use. Likewise, it incorporates the spreadsheet function, taking education to another level, making it possible to work with much more information and real-life situations”, highlighted Katia Mayumi, Casio’s sales manager for Latin America.

For his part, Uri Tkacz, president of PTMarket, Casio’s authorized distributor in Peru, said that ClassWiz calculators are equipped with a function that converts numerical formulas entered into the calculator to QR codes. In this way, users can view the respective graphs on smartphones or tablets by scanning the code to access Classpad.net, an online platform with multiple options for teaching/learning mathematics and science.

This innovative application allows scientific calculators with the ability to generate QR codes to be used for group work in mathematics, physics and chemistry classes. For example: Students use their calculators to convert their own data and calculation results to QR code. The teacher then scans the QR codes using a smartphone or tablet and enters the Classpad.net platform, allowing the teacher to summarize and display the results to all students on the screen.

Ecological packaging and support for education

It should be noted that with the commitment to reduce plastics worldwide, Casio is launching ecological packaging. By purchasing products from the ClassWiz line, you are supporting the actions of teachers and educational institutions.

As part of its commitment to education, the Japanese company implemented the Casio Académico Gakuhan Program in Latin America in 2009, which has trained more than 5,000 mathematics and science teachers from schools, universities and higher institutes in Peru through workshops on how to integrate calculator technology into curricula.
