Japanese electronics manufacturer Casio has unveiled the CRW-002, a miniature full-metal ring watch that shrinks the design of the classic A168 digital watch into a wearable finger accessory.
First introduced in 1995, the A168 has been recreated in a compact format measuring 25.2 millimeters long, 18.2 millimeters wide, and 6.2 millimeters thick, with a total weight of 15 grams.
Casio Reimagines the Iconic A168 Digital Watch as a Miniature Full-Metal Finger Ring
The CRW-002 gives a new look to one of Casio's most iconic timepieces, bringing the familiar design and functionality of the classic A168 into an entirely new form,
said Shermeen Greenmun, Vice President of Timepiece at Casio America, according to PR Newswire.
Through advanced miniaturization and thoughtful attention to the original design, we've created a unique accessory that pushes the boundaries of what a watch can be, while staying true to the details our consumers know and love.
Casio Uses Miniaturization and Molding for Ring-Sized Modules
To achieve the ring-sized form factor, Casio utilized high-density mounting technology and a miniature battery to reduce the timekeeping module to approximately one-tenth the size of a standard watch module.
The construction relies on metal injection molding (MIM) technology to faithfully replicate the intricate shapes of the case, case back, and bracelet components. The matte finish of the band provides a contrasting texture to the case, and the design incorporates signature feature indicators on the face alongside three physical side control buttons.
Despite its microscopic proportions, the CRW-002 eschews biometric sensors and companion apps entirely, focusing instead on traditional timekeeping. The device features:

- A six-digit digital display supporting 12-hour and 24-hour time formats
- A 1/100-second stopwatch with a 60-minute measuring capacity
- An automatic calendar
- Dual time functionality
- Water resistance
- A white LED backlight and a “Time Flash” function that blinks its backlight or pulses subtly at a preset time or at the top of every hour
The ring maintains timekeeping accuracy within 30 seconds per month and operates on a replaceable battery with an estimated lifespan of approximately two years. The default ring size matches Japanese size 22—offering a 20-millimeter inner diameter—and includes adjustment spacers in the box to reduce the fit to smaller dimensions.
Color Finishes and Pricing Vary by Region
