TRENTO. Castel Thun has over 12,000 square meters of new surface area open to the public, with a garden, a historic vegetable garden and a dedicated area divided between “care of the soul”, “nutrition” and “care of the body”.
The manor – we read in a note from the Province – is being renovated thanks to an important intervention financed with the Pnrr which also involved the restoration of the ancient ice house, the consolidation of the eastern walls and the arrangement of the “Powder Tower”.
“An important investment has been made herethanks to you who give the maximum of your skills and creativity to enhance the beautiful things Castel Thun offers”, said the councilor for economic development Achille Spinelliwho met the 20 operators hired as part of Progettone in Castel Thun.
“You are ambassadors of beauty, the kind face that welcomes guests, the arms that guarantee the maintenance of these places, the hand that accompanies those who wish to discover our artistic jewels”, added the councilor when meeting the workers, flanked – among others – by the manager of the Service for employment support and environmental enhancement Maurizio Mezzanotteby the director Laura Dalprà and by the manager of the Technical Service Adriano Conci of the Buonconsiglio museum, and by the director of the Environment Work Consortium Luca Laffi.
The Sova operators will always be responsible for the arrangement of the access areas to Castel Thun and a new car park for visitors.
The next interventions that will affect the area will also be entrusted to teams of workers from Progettoneengaged in environmental interventions for the redevelopment of an area located 1.7 kilometers from the castle, which will be used as a car park during periods of large tourist influx.
The intervention – worth 210,000 euros – was entrusted to Sova by the Castello del Buonconsiglio museum in agreement with the Municipality of Ton.
The staff supporting the castle’s guardianship activities numbers 15 units: the activity is carried out in all areas of the castle open to the public (entrance, gardens, ground floor, carriage gallery and main floor). The castle garden maintenance team is made up of 5 operators.
