The interventions of the INDH, currently in its 3rd phase, at the level of the prefecture of M’diq-Fnideq, particularly in terms of support for economic inclusion projects, pay particular attention to the category of young people, whether through the strengthening of employment opportunities in social and solidarity economy units, or self-employment initiatives, by encouraging the creation of businesses and strengthening the entrepreneurial culture.

Among the pilot projects supported by the INDH is the company “Casti Poisson Frais”, which was created by three ambitious young people from the prefecture, with a view to realizing their dream of setting up a fish sales project.

This project, which was launched thanks to the contribution of the INDH, is an eloquent example of the convergence and complementarity between the Initiative’s programs dedicated to young people and the integrated program of support and financing of companies “Intelaka”, according to a rational and well-studied approach.

The leaders of this ambitious project have obtained a loan to finance the initial expenses of the project, in particular the provision of a vehicle for transporting fish and the development of a cold room, while the financial support provided by the Initiative has been invested in the provision of modern equipment, which will enable them to offer a product that meets customer expectations, in compliance with quality and hygiene standards.

“After obtaining a degree in economics from the Faculty of Legal, Economic and Social Sciences of Tetouan in 2019, I began to think seriously, with my partners, who are in fact my friends, about creating a company to escape unemployment and contribute to the creation of jobs for young people in the region,” stressed the manager of the company, Oussama Damoun, in a statement to M24, the continuous news television channel of MAP.

After determining the idea of the project, this ambitious young man, accompanied by his partners, Abderrahim Masrour and Mohamed Hajjaj Tijani, went to the platform of integrated economic initiatives of Fnideq, which was created within the framework of the program for improving the income and economic inclusion of young people, in order to strengthen the skills of young job seekers and help project leaders to develop their ideas, carry out the feasibility study of their projects and benefit from the necessary technical and financial support.

“Our project, after being studied and approved by the commission responsible for examining projects, was financed up to 62% by the INDH, which allowed us to start our activity,” he said, adding: “we also approached the Intelaka program, which granted us a loan to buy a utility vehicle for transporting fish, and to install a cold room in our store located in downtown Fnideq.

Mr. Damoun assured that he and his partners aspire to expand their project and open stores in M’diq, Martil and Tetouan, with a view to creating employment opportunities for young people and highlighting the importance of benefiting from support and financing mechanisms dedicated to young people, stressing that self-employment can open new horizons for youth employment.

For his part, the head of the income improvement and economic inclusion of young people department at the prefecture of M’diq-Fnideq, Al Mnasra Anas, indicated that this modern fishmonger project, which was presented by young people from Fnideq, is part of the projects financed by the INDH in its third phase, noting that it is part of the “Income improvement and economic inclusion of young people” program.

The official said that the project leaders benefited from the training, supervision and support necessary for the creation of their business, noting that this project required an envelope of approximately 160,000 dirhams, to which the INDH contributed 100,000 dirhams, while the remaining amount was mobilized by the partners.

This project, he continued, embodies the convergence and complementarity between national and local self-employment programs for young people.
