As part of her visit to Poland for the 19th Informal Meeting of the Heads of State of the Arraiolos Group, the President of the Republic, Katerina Sakellaropoulou, went to the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp.

After the tour and the laying of wreaths at the Wall of Death and the Memorial of the Victims, the President of the Republic said: “Words are not enough to describe the horror of the Holocaust, the methodical extermination of millions of people by the Nazi regime. Jews, including thousands of Greeks, as well as many other people. An unimaginable barbarity that indelibly divided not only the culture of Europe but also the history of the entire human race.”
