The Valencian engineering company Vielca Ingenieros is one of the companies awarded the Framework Agreement for the contract of Technical Assistance for the construction of projects, project management and health and safety coordination of the sector and maintenance services and technical support services for architecture and technology by the Infrastructure of the Generalitat of Catalonia.
The contract envisages the execution of renovation installations on more than 1,400 public roofs and terraces. The first challenge is to install a total capacity between all buildings of 200 megawatts, which will allow the production of a fifth of all the electricity consumed by the Catalan Administration. Photovoltaic panels will work to supply themselves in public buildings where they are installed. Likewise, surpluses will be used to provide energy to nearby city services and for people in power poverty in the surrounding area.
The duration of this Framework Agreement is two years, extendable for two more years, and the estimated value of the contract is 43,010,000 euros. The Valencian company participates in four lots (1, 3, 5 and 6), which are in the maintenance of facilities, companies and infrastructure, the activities of the activities and the management of the work ( data collection, needs analysis and design of applications). as well as managing the supply of unique resources for mitigation and adaptation to climate change. 24 projects and a single purpose
This year, Vielca has presented 61 offers that correspond to lots 1 and 3 and has been granted 5 licenses, which include the construction of 24 projects, with their work instructions that suitable for photovoltaic installations on the roofs of public buildings.
Ongoing work is basically the design and subsequent construction management of electrical energy production facilities using solar panels for self-heating in public buildings of all types in Catalonia. The proposed term for this project is four years (two initial years plus two further extensions). With the implementation of all these actions, Catalonia takes a very important step in improving energy efficiency and reducing climate change.
Companies, police stations, hospitals and unique buildings, among those selected
The buildings that are important by the Catalan Administration are companies, Mossos police stations, fire stations, hospitals, buildings of the Department of Justice, buildings of different administrations and unique buildings, such as theaters .
