The ongoing heatwave over Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna and Barisal divisions may continue for another 72 hours, the Meteorological Department said.

It may also spread to surrounding areas. The Meteorological Office also said that there is no forecast of rain for now.

According to the Met office, the temperature is 1 to 3 degrees above normal. Which will continue for at least three more days. And because there is more combustion vapor in the air, the feeling of heat is increasing.

The Meteorological Department has said that the temperature is likely to drop slightly from Monday, and there is a possibility of light rain from that day. But normal drizzle will not reduce the heat. Heavy rain is needed for this.

Meteorologists believe that due to global warming, the normal process of weather in Bangladesh is being disrupted.

Meanwhile, yesterday Wednesday (April 3), the organization issued a heat wave warning or heat alert in all areas.

According to the notification, the ongoing heatwave over Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna and Barisal divisions may continue for the next 72 hours from April 3 and may spread further. The Meteorological Department has also said that discomfort may increase due to excess water vapor.

According to the Meteorological Department, if the temperature is between 36 and 37.9 degrees Celsius, it is called a mild heat wave. Temperatures between 38 and 39.9 degrees Celsius are called moderate heat waves. A severe heat wave is called when the temperature is between 40 and 41.9 degrees Celsius.

Sources of the Meteorological Department said that there is a possibility that the temperature will drop slightly on April 8 and 9. There may be light rain.
