A 68-year-old Austrian woman died last Friday after being attacked by a shark on a beach near Sharm el-Sheikh in Sinai.

The woman, an Austrian living in Egypt, swam in the sea and suddenly the shark attacked her and cut off her hand and leg, she managed to swim to shore but did not survive and died on her way to the hospital.

The shark attack takes place in front of shocked tourists who were on the beach, at the time of the attack there were tourists at sea who immediately tried to escape when they saw what was happening and some even tried to get the shark’s attention to leave the woman.

Today (Sunday) the administrative district of the Red Sea in Egypt announced that a number of beaches in the Sinai region will be closed following the death of the woman.

Last year, at exactly the same time, a Jordanian tourist was attacked by a shark in the Red Sea.

The same tourist was hovering with a parachute over the sea when suddenly a shark jumped out of the sea and cut off his leg, the tourist was taken to the hospital where he underwent emergency surgery and was rescued.
