According to the data received by Reuters, about 12 percent of the samples have failed the quality test. In such a situation, questions are being raised once again on the quality of spices. Let us tell you that the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) had investigated the spices being sold in the country. For this, FSSAI had collected 4054 samples of spices from across the country for quality test. Later, 474 samples (about 12 percent) failed in the investigation. After this information came to light, FSSAI gave a statement to Reuters about this. FSSAI said that necessary action is being taken against the companies whose spices have been found to be defective in quality. Action has already been taken against some companies. FSSAI had investigated
FSSAI is responsible for testing food items in the country. In such a situation, FSSAI also came under fire when ethylene oxide was found in MDH and Everest spices. Later, FSSAI started testing these spices. In this investigation, FSSAI found that the quality of spices of many other companies was not good. Safety standards were not used in these.
