In the first half of this year, financial sanctions totaling AZN 135,609 were applied in Azerbaijan.

As Day.Az reported on Tuesday with reference to Trend, the General Director of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) said this. Shahin Mahmudzade during the presentation of the financial stability report for the first half of 2024.

“In the first half of this year, 18 inspections were carried out in the financial sector and 47 control measures were carried out. As a result of the recorded violations, financial sanctions totaling AZN 135,609 were applied. In addition, tough measures were taken against 37 entities, which included the cancellation of licenses , suspension of their actions or imposition of restrictions on their activities,” he emphasized.

It should be noted that in the first half of 2024, the State Service for Antimonopoly Supervision and Control of the Consumer Market under the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan gave corresponding mandatory instructions to 5 market entities with the application of financial sanctions in the amount of 189.7 thousand manats.

Let us recall that the State Service applied financial sanctions in 2023 to 24 market entities, the volume of financial sanctions amounted to 649.6 thousand manats.
