The project is still in its early stages of development, and CD Projekt is currently in search of a screenwriter to create a brand-new story set in the Cyberpunk 2077 universe. The company has enlisted the expertise of Garret Kemble, Head of Television at Anonymous Content Studios, along with Ryan Schwartz, Director of Development, and David Levine, Chief Creative Officer. Levine previously served as HBO’s EVP and Co-Head of Drama, overseeing the production of hit series like True Detective, Westworld, and Game of Thrones.
With the success of the Netflix animated spin-off, Cyberpunk Edgerunners, CD Projekt is keen on expanding the franchise into Hollywood territory. The company has seen great achievements, with Cyberpunk 2077 selling a staggering 25 million copies and the recent expansion, Phantom Liberty, selling three million copies in its first week.
In other news, CD Projekt has announced a management shakeup, with CEO Adam Kiciński revealing plans to transition into a supervisory position by 2025.
