CDMX Prosecutor’s Office recognizes black figure in crimes; requests budget increase of 6.3%

The Capital⁤ Attorney General’s Office (FGJCDMX) recognized the ​existence of a black figure in the commission of ⁢ crimes in Mexico City, due to the ⁣ lack of reporting culture.

In a ⁢meeting with local deputies⁣ to discuss the budget, the person in charge ⁣of the Prosecutor’s Office, ⁤ Ulises Lara referred to how‍ to guarantee that⁣ the greatest number of people can report, with accessible mechanisms, as ‍a shared concern.

“We have to⁣ generate ​a general culture (of reporting)…⁣ if‌ the mechanisms‍ are there, if ⁣they are accessible, why do ⁣we ⁣still have a black figure? It is a reality, not everyone‍ reports or does not see it appropriate,” ⁤he acknowledged.

At the ‍meeting,Ulises Lara requested a⁤ budget increase of 6.3 percent for the FGJCDMX in 2025,​ to reach the 8 ⁤thousand 855 million pesos ⁢s.

Among the‌ priorities to‍ be addressed​ with the requested resource,‌ he listed the DNA⁣ bank ‌ the creation of the prosecutor’s office specialized in extortion, addressing ‍the pressure‌ in the formation of management units due ​to the reform of the Civil Code; considering specialized personnel for the biopsychosocial context unit and the precautionary measures unit; strengthen⁣ hearings, as well as the search for missing persons and police training.

Likewise,he recalled that for 2024 the budget of the Prosecutor’s Office was‌ 8 thousand 330 million pesos,and as ​of october 31 of this year there‍ is an advance of ‌5 billion 865 thousand ‍pesos,with a ⁢committed budget of 98.94 percent of the ⁣budget ⁤modified, so there will be ⁣no sub-exercises.
