In accordance with the rest of the country and after carrying out the assemblies in the grassroots structures, in Güira de Melena the X Congress of the Defense Committees of the Revolution Municipal Assembly was held, a space where dialogue prevailed on the need to make adjustments for the benefit of the people and the country, based on exchanges with the population and above all taking into account the reality of Cuba.
They delved into the insufficient participation of CDR members in the tasks of the organization, and new work projections were established for the next stage, among which it stands out to strengthen actions to exalt the work of young people and promote their leadership.
In this space, 21 comrades were elected who will become members of the CDR leadership in the town, as well as the ten delegates to the Provincial Assembly and two pre-candidates to the National Assembly of the organization.
The municipal secretariat will be represented by Daimara Avilés Espinosa, as a professional member and coordinator of the municipality that attends to surveillance tasks.
The meeting was also propitious to recognize four Güireños members of the Artemisa province baseball team.
In the presence of Julia Durruty, a member of the CDR National Secretariat, Karel León Díaz, first Party secretary in the town, recognized the effort of these young people and urged them to grow in the near future.
