And so we used a universal language: music that transmits emotions and helps us to dream ”.

Here are the three appointments: the first (this evening) concerns a performance of Salento and Mediterranean dances, by Tarantarte which, founded in 2001 by Maristella Martella in collaboration with Eugenio Bennato, has brought dance, music and theater performances. , in Italy and in the world. The concerts are held to coincide with an important date: March 27, proclaimed World Theater Day by the International Theater Institute in Prague, a UNESCO heritage site, which entrusted Oscar winner Helen Mirren with the task of writing the message on the occasion of the festivity, having bought a farm in Salento, right next to the Marenea Suite Hotel.

the message: “This is such a difficult time for live entertainment and many artists, technicians, artisans and craftswomen have struggled in a profession already full of insecurities. Perhaps this ever-present insecurity has made them more capable of surviving this pandemic with intelligence and courage. Their imaginations have already translated, in these new circumstances, into creative, fun and touching ways of communicating, of course mainly thanks to the internet. Since they existed on the planet, humans have been telling each other stories. The beautiful culture of theater will live on as long as we are there. The creative urgency of writers, designers, dancers, singers, actors, musicians, directors will never be stifled and will flourish in the near future with a new energy and a new understanding of the world that we all share. I can not wait!
