Cecilia Bolocco presented the campaign to raise funds for the Care Foundation, created by the former Miss Universe for provide timely treatment to those suffering from cancer.
The former TV host said on Mega’s Mucho Gusto that the organization was born after her own son, Máximo, suffered a brain tumor in 2018, which was later removed.
Bolocco indicated that the money raised is intended to help people who are on the oncology waiting list, which currently reaches 17 thousand users.
Along these lines, Cecilia Bolocco explained that people can approach the Care Foundation through its website, where The organization contacts the patient and offers a second medical opinion free of charge.
Following this evaluation and the severity of the disease, the foundation manages the treatment for the patient, whether in Chile, Europe or the United States, where those who need proton therapy are cared for.
This therapy is partly funded by the Care Foundation, where the patient assumes “a marginal or free cost.”
Given this situation, Cecilia Bolocco revealed that her dream is for the technology needed to provide proton therapy to be entirely in Chile.
“(We want) to have everything in Chile, the latest technology, and this digital platform that can accommodate all cancer patients. Today, the reality we have is of this magnitude because we are a small team, but even so, we have assisted 6 thousand people in these years,” he said.
