What does Minedu say about classes being held on Teachers’ Day on June 8?

The Ministry of Education established, through Ministerial Resolution 474-2022, that teachers and assistants in Basic Education, Productive Technical, Higher Technical, Higher Academic and Artistic Training (ESFAS) of public and private institutions have the right to enjoy a “holiday” until Teacher’s Day.

For this reason, the institution announced in a statement that classes will be suspended this Monday, July 8, so that education professionals can enjoy their day with remuneration. This notification was sent to regional education directors and managers, directors of local educational management units and leaders of military schools so that they can comply with what was determined.

When are the school holidays in 2024?

According to the rules established by MyNeedu, school holidays will start next Monday, July 22, and last until Friday, August 2, 2024, so students will have to return to classes on Monday, August 5. In addition, this targets public schools across the country, while private institutions will have to decide and inform their students of their established dates, which will also be 15 days.

It is important to mention here that even though school children will be on holiday, teachers of these institutions will have to continue working. And during these holidays, teachers have the responsibility to organize school activities to continue the program of the current term.
