Celebrating Generations: Grandparents and Grandchildren Unite for a Joyful Day at IPGG

by time news

This Friday (26) there will be a party for grandparents and grandchildren at the Paulista Institute of Geriatrics and Gerontology (IPGG) José Ermírio de Moraes, a unit of the São Paulo State Health Department. The event, in celebration of Grandparents’ Day, will take place from 9 AM to 11 AM and is open to the public. To participate in the event, it is necessary to contact the unit to obtain an invitation.

During the party, gincanas (team games) will be held with grandparents and grandchildren, physical activities, painting workshops with the theme “Tree of Life,” as well as a theatrical performance featuring actors over 60 years old from the Group Suavidade.

The manager of the Institute’s Community Center, Dr. Nilton da Silva Guedes, emphasizes the importance of increasing the connection between grandparents and grandchildren. “We live in a time where it seems impossible to live without being attached to a cell phone, tablet, or computer screen, and this has been a constant challenge, especially concerning children. Therefore, we thought of playful activities that allow for an exchange of experiences between generations, involving lots of complicity, laughter, and affection,” he comments.
