Celebrating life in pink

The municipality of Kfar Saba will mark breast cancer awareness month, noted throughout the country and the world during the month of October, through a variety of initiatives, events and activities, under the slogan: “Celebrating life in pink”, with the goal being to increase awareness and the importance of early detection of the disease, when all activities will take place under the leadership of the Municipal Women’s Council, the Mayor’s Adviser for the Advancement of Status The women, the Department of Health and Urban Resilience, in collaboration with the “Hashot” community – a community recovering from and dealing with breast cancer.

Every year in Israel, approximately 5,500 women are diagnosed with breast cancer in Israel. As the disease is diagnosed in the early stages, the chances of cure increase to about 90%. The number of women recovering from breast cancer is steadily increasing thanks to early detection and thanks to the widespread increase in awareness in Israel.

As part of marking Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Municipality of Kfar Saba, under the leadership of the Municipal Women’s Council and the “Hashot” community in cooperation with the Department of Community and Society and the Department of Health Promotion and Urban Resilience, the Municipal Sports Authority, the Department of Education and Rabin High School, will hold an event to promote awareness of the early detection of breast cancer. The event, which will open with a march and continue with a party and a fashion show, will take place in the morning hours of Friday, October 28, when the march will leave from Kiryat Sapir to the pool area of ​​Arim Mall – where the show will be held.

The march is an informative procession in the public space, which will be held by students of the health and sports major and more from Rabin High School, in cooperation with the municipal sports authority and the education department, which will leave from Kiryat Sapir, under the guidance of certified walking coach Noga Mosman. Later that day, as mentioned, a street party and a colorful fashion show will be held in the public space, after the local businesses mobilized to design the hair of the companies of the “Hasdot” community, Lahlevish and Afarn.

Even before that, on Thursday, October 6, at 19:30 it will take place Conference “An Unexpected Passenger in My Body”, a journey story of patients and healers that will include “TED” lectures by professionals. The conference is led by NRspirit, Gamani Ratza Group, the Department of Health Promotion and Urban Resilience, Meir Medical Center and the “Hasdot” Group.

on Friday, October 7, will take place The jump-off for the ‘Circle the Earth’ run in the city park, starting at 05:30 until 09:00. The purpose of collecting the kilometers is to run around Kadvah and strengthen women facing breast cancer.

In the initiative of ‘The Fields’, the municipal library will also take part in the significant month and distribute bookmarks to readers, reminding them to be early and go get checked. In addition, the city hall building, the entrance to the city and the building of the culture hall will be lit up in pink – all this to raise awareness of breast cancer and the importance of early detection.

Finally, the Kfar Saba municipality will take part this year in the campaign of the “One of Nine” association and Keter Company, whose concept is “Sit a moment – this moment may save your life”, in which a location in the city will be chosen to place pink chairs with the aim of raising awareness of early breast cancer screening.
