St. Bridget of Sweden is celebrated today, July 23, according to the Christian saint calendar, among other names.

Her origin is from the Royal House, within a noble family. She was a religious, Catholic, mystic, writer, and theologian from Sweden. Due to her closeness to royalty, she had access to the most influential political and social circles of her time. She was the founder of the Order of the Most Holy Saviour and is considered the patron saint of Sweden, one of the patrons of Europe and also of widows.
