On this occasion, many guests expressed to the Ambassador of Morocco, Fares Yassir, their sincere congratulations for the celebration of the glorious Throne Day and their wishes for success for the major projects undertaken by Morocco under the reign of HM the King.

In a speech, the Moroccan ambassador highlighted the symbiosis that exists between the Throne and the Moroccan people, known for their sincerity, optimism, tolerance and openness.

“Under the leadership of HM the King,” added the Moroccan diplomat, “Morocco has embarked on a spectacular change towards modernity, making its authenticity the main catalyst towards development, well-being and prosperity.”

Fares Yassir recalled in this context the main reforms undertaken by the Kingdom in the political, socio-economic, environmental, cultural and religious fields, focusing particularly on the economic successes achieved in automobile and aeronautical construction, fertilizers, logistics, renewable energies, tourism, etc.

The Moroccan ambassador specifically listed two major projects that demonstrate the relevance of the choices made by Morocco: the Nigeria-Morocco Gas Pipeline and the XLink project, which will supply clean energy to more than 7 million British homes by the end of this decade.

At the diplomatic level, the ambassador stressed, Morocco, under royal leadership, has adapted to changes in the world and favors a multilateral approach to defend its interests, at the head of which is the question of territorial integrity.

Indeed, explained the Moroccan diplomat, “the Sahara issue constitutes the backbone of the foreign policy of the Moroccan state, to such an extent that national sovereignty and territorial integrity are the prism through which our relations with our partners are evaluated.”

Regarding Morocco’s relations with Latin America, Fares Yassir stressed that the two parties share a cultural and linguistic heritage as well as the values and principles of freedom, justice, democracy and respect for human rights.

As for Argentina, the two countries maintain “excellent relations” reflected through a convergence of points of view at the political level and a boom in trade which places this country in the rank of the second destination of Moroccan exports in Latin America and third source of Moroccan imports from the region.
