This reception was marked by the presence of ambassadors and diplomats of UN member states, senior officials of the UN Secretariat, representatives of the press accredited to the UN, businessmen and members of the Moroccan community residing in the American metropolis.
The ceremony was attended by the United Nations Under-Secretary-General for the Department of Operational Support, Atul Khare, the Under-Secretary-General and High Representative for Disarmament Affairs, Izumi Nakamitsu, the Assistant Secretary-General and Special Representative on Violence against Children, Najat Maalla M’jid, the Assistant Secretary-General for Human Rights and Director of the New York Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Ilze Brands Kehris, and the Assistant Secretary-General for the Department for General Assembly and Conference Management, Cherith Ann Norman Chalet.
On this occasion, the guests instructed Ambassador Hilale to convey to His Majesty King Mohammed VI their warm congratulations and wishes of health, happiness and long life and further progress and prosperity to all the Moroccan people under the enlightened leadership of the Sovereign.
They also expressed their deep appreciation for the progress made by the Kingdom in all areas, in line with the wise and forward-looking vision of His Majesty the King.
The guests also highlighted Morocco’s commitment, in accordance with the High Royal Instructions, in particular to the maintenance and consolidation of international peace and security, the promotion of intercultural and interreligious dialogue, the promotion of human rights, socio-economic and sustainable development, and the strengthening of effective and active South-South cooperation.
