The celebration of this day, adopted by UNESCO, provides for the organization of a range of conferences and artistic events in order to highlight African cultural wealth and address the increasing challenges it faces, indicates a joint press release from the organizers.
“Indeed, one of the strengths of the African continent is its cultural diversity,” underlines the same source, noting that “Morocco, a crossroads of civilizations, is a very good example of this wealth and ancestral links with other African countries through our cultures.
In this sense, the press release recalled the Royal Speech delivered before the 28th summit of the African Union in which the Sovereign underlined the importance of the richness of African culture: “Africa can be proud of its resources, of its cultural heritage, its spiritual values and the future must carry this natural pride loud and clear!”
This day will also be an opportunity to recall the diversity of Moroccan culture as enshrined in the Constitution and also its links with other cultures on the continent, thus playing an important role in African unity.
Among the speakers, Moroccan academics and other African countries experts in different fields relating to culture: sociologists, anthropologists, historians and civil society actors.
