The 59-year-old actress was spotted leaving Nobu Malibu in California on Monday night, accompanied by her longtime boyfriend, Johnny McDaid.
During the outing with friends, Cox appeared downcast as she entered her vehicle. Earlier that day, she and the rest of the “Friends” cast released a joint statement expressing their devastation over Perry’s passing. The statement, obtained by People magazine, read, “We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family.”
The heartfelt message continued, “There is so much to say, but right now, we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss. In time we will say more, as and when we are able. For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world.” The statement was signed by Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer.
David Schwimmer, who played Ross Geller alongside Perry’s character Chandler Bing, was also seen in public for the first time since the tragic news. However, unlike Cox, he was spotted leaving his New York City residence.
Matthew Perry, 54, was found dead in his hot tub at his California home on Saturday. He was already deceased when the first responders arrived at the scene. Law enforcement sources have now revealed that a preliminary test showed no traces of fentanyl or methamphetamine in Perry’s system. However, more tests are being conducted as part of the toxicology report, which will take a few months to complete. The cause of Perry’s death is currently listed as “deferred.”
