Sat.1 will be back with “Celebrity Big Brother” in 2024. Preparations are already underway in the background – and the first stars have already confirmed their participation.

These are exciting weeks for all reality TV fans: The summer jungle camp starts on Friday, August 16th. The season for the 20th anniversary of “I’m a Celebrity – Get Me Out of Here!” is a special one, however: There are no new candidates moving in, but 13 jungle legends who have remained in people’s memories for a long time. Among them: Elena Miras, Georgina Fleur, Kader Loth and Luigi Birofio.

While the countdown for the all-star jungle camp is running on RTL, Sat.1 is also preparing the comeback of a popular format: There will be new episodes of “Celebrity Big Brother” in 2024 – now the first details about the twelfth season have been revealed.

On Tuesday, August 13, Sat.1 held a virtual press conference to present the current plans for “Celebrity Big Brother”. It was revealed that the new season will be shown on television from October 7.

The first candidates have already confirmed their participation: Among others, former jungle camp participant Mike Heiter will be moving into the container. “Anyone who wants to call themselves a reality star must have been on ‘Celebrity Big Brother’. It’s just a cult classic, you knew it as a child. When I watched the first season, I was eight years old,” he remembers.

While Mike Heiter has already gained plenty of trash TV experience in formats such as “I’m a Celebrity – Get Me Out of Here!” and “Love Island”, “Celebrity Big Brother” is a completely new adventure for some of his future housemates. For example, former “Tatort” actress Mimi Fiedler is attempting her first reality show. “I don’t think I would have done any other format. The mix in the house is always so colorful and I’m very curious,” says the actress happily.

A new chapter is also beginning for football star Max Kruse with “Celebrity Big Brother”. “I’ve been following the show for many years. It wasn’t always easy to combine it with my active career,” said the 36-year-old. But it was always clear to him that he would take part in the show at some point. The athlete has set himself a special goal: “In the end, of course, I want to be better than my wife,” said Kruse. His partner Dilara made it to sixth place in 2023.

Last year, “Celebrity Big Brother” kicked off on November 20th. The candidates for the eleventh season included the ex-couple Iris and Peter Klein, ex-jungle camper Matthias Mangiapane and Ballermann star Jürgen Milski. The former “Bachelor” candidate Yeliz Koc was particularly well received by the audience: she was crowned the winner in the finale on December 4th.

Last year, Jochen Schropp and Marlene Lufen hosted the live shows of “Celebrity Big Brother”. At the press conference, Sat.1 confirmed that the presenters will be part of the reality show again in 2024.
