Singer Celine Dion announced today (Thursday) the cancellation of her performance in Israel, which was supposed to take place in May 2023. The cancellation comes due to health problems the singer is dealing with.

In a revealing video she posted on her Instagram account, which is followed by over five million people, Dion announced that she had been diagnosed with a very rare neurological problem called “Stiff-Pearson Syndrome”, which affects one in a million people.

“I miss you all very much, and I can’t wait until I get on stage again and I can talk to you directly,” she said. “As you know, I’m always an open book. I wasn’t ready to talk about it before, but now I’m ready. I’ve been dealing with health problems for a long time, and it was hard for me to face these challenges and talk about everything I’ve been through.”

The cancellation of the concert in Israel joins a chain of cancellations as part of Dion’s tour around the world, which already started with the cancellation of her concerts in Las Vegas several months ago.

So, she had to cancel her performances due to “severe and persistent muscle spasms,” as she put out in a press release, stating that Dion “was recently treated for severe and persistent muscle spasms that prevent her from performing, and her recovery is taking longer than she had hoped. Her medical team continues to prepare and treat the condition “.

“While we are still learning about this rare condition, we know that it is what causes all the many cramps I suffer from,” added Celine Dion in a video addressing her fans. “Unfortunately, these contractions affect every part of my daily routine. Sometimes they make it difficult for me to walk and don’t allow me to use my vocal cords and sing like I used to.

It pains me to inform you today that this means that I will not be able to go on my tour scheduled to start in Europe in February. I have a great team of doctors who take care of me, and my precious children who support me and give me hope. I work hard with my therapists every day to rebuild my strength and my ability to perform again.

But, I have to admit it was a struggle. All I know how to do is sing, that’s what I’ve done all my life, and that’s what I love to do more than anything else. I miss you so much, I miss singing for you all, being on stage, performing for you.

I always gave 100 percent of myself when I performed, but my medical condition does not allow me to give the same 100 percent. To get back to myself I have no choice but to concentrate on my recovery and health, and I have hope that I am on the right path there. This is my goal and I do everything I can to achieve it.

I want to thank you for the many well wishes and the love and support on social media, it means a lot to me. Take care of yourself. I love you and hope so much that I can see you again.”

The disappointing cancellation of the upcoming concert in Israel joins a series of cancellations by international artists, including the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Justin Bieber, who, like Dion, was also forced to cancel his arrival in Israel due to his health condition.
