Celine Dion’s Health Condition Progresses, Sister Says She’s Losing Control over Body Movements

Celine Dion’s battle with stiff-person syndrome has taken a turn for the worse, according to her sister Claudette Dion. The singer, who was diagnosed with the rare neurological disorder last year, is now reportedly unable to control certain body movements.

In an interview with 7 Jours, Claudette revealed, “She doesn’t have control over her muscles. What breaks my heart is that she’s always been disciplined. She’s always worked hard. Our mother always told her, ‘You’re going to do it well, you’re going to do it properly.'”

Furthermore, Claudette expressed uncertainty about Celine’s future in the music industry, stating, “It’s true that in both our dreams and hers, the goal is to return to the stage. In what capacity? I don’t know.”

In May, Celine made the difficult decision to cancel her Courage World Tour as a result of the debilitating symptoms caused by stiff-person syndrome. In a heartfelt Instagram post, she apologized to her fans, explaining, “I’m working really hard to build back my strength, but touring can be very difficult even when you’re 100%. It’s not fair to you to keep postponing the shows, and even though it breaks my heart, it’s best that we cancel everything now until I’m really ready to be back on stage again.”

Stiff-person syndrome is a rare condition that can cause painful muscle spasms and stiffness, affecting the individual’s ability to move and function normally. As Celine continues to navigate the challenges posed by her health condition, her fans and loved ones are undoubtedly rooting for her recovery and hoping for the best.
