Cellcom enters the field of charging electric vehicles and launches “Cellcom EV”. The company announced today the launch of charging solutions for electric vehicles and will now sell smart charging stations and load management systems made by EV METER from NAYAX. The launch of this activity is a direct continuation of Cellcom’s announcement last June regarding its entry into the field of electricity supply.

The company’s solutions and activities will focus on both the business sector and the private sector: from high-rise buildings and condominiums, to offices and workplaces. The company will offer its customers smart charging stations, the establishment of electrical infrastructure, load management, the provision of a management application to customers, the collection of payments and clearing, and the provision of service and support nationwide.

The company offers two tariff packages for the customer to choose: The basic package: a monthly payment of 49 NIS for the service and a charge of 0.3 NIS plus an electricity tariff according to the Electricity Authority’s determination per kWh. The extended package: a monthly payment of 199 NIS including electricity for charging 300 kWh per month which is equivalent to an average mileage of 1650 km per month (about 20,000 km per year).

Package rates do not include the purchase and installation position available for purchase plus a one-time payment or in installments. Customers who own private homes or a residential apartment who are interested in purchasing a basic charging station will be able to receive a discount voucher of NIS 300 for purchases on the EV METER website.

In addition, Cellcom will offer its business customers a variety of solutions tailored to their needs, such as using employee cards to charge the company’s vehicles, setting up public stations that include the ability to clear credit cards for occasional customers, dual charging stations and more.

Cellcom EV customers will enjoy a number of additional benefits during the launch period. For example, customers will receive 3 months free of charge by joining the Internet service on fiber optics at a speed of 1 GB, as well as a 5% discount on home electricity rates for new entrants at Cellcom Energy. In addition, Cellcom EV customers will soon be able to purchase insurance for the electric vehicle as well as for the charging station at a significant discount, through Cellcom’s cooperation with one of the major insurance companies.

Cellcom CEO Daniel Sapir said: “Cellcom is the first communications company in Israel that, in addition to its fiber, TV and cellular solutions, now provides another and complementary solution for the home and office – electric charging. In the last year the company has been working to create new growth engines that create synergy with its core business. “Cellcom is bringing a line not only to its entry into the field, but also to the attractive and innovative value proposition it will now provide to its customers.”
