The Boston Celtics defeated the Atlanta Hawks in the NBA playoffs and are next up to face the Philadelphia 76ers.
In Atlanta, the NBA record champion got a 128:124 and thus booked the fourth win necessary to advance to the semi-finals of the Eastern Conference. The series against the Hawks ended 4-2. The Celtics have their first duel with the 76ers on the German night on Tuesday.
In game six, the Celtics built up a comfortable lead early on, but then fell behind several times. In the final quarter, Jayson Tatum and Marcus Smart took control and secured the win needed to advance. Tatum had 30 points, Smart had 22. The Celtics’ best pitcher was Jaylen Brown with 32 points.

Meanwhile, the Vegas Golden Knights defeated the Winnipeg Jets in the NHL playoffs. In the fifth game against the team from Canada, the Golden Knights got a 4:1 (1:0, 3:0, 0:1) and thus the necessary victory for 4:1 and progression. In the semifinals of the North American ice hockey league’s Western Conference, the Golden Knights meet either the Edmonton Oilers around Leon Draisaitl or the Los Angeles Kings. Going into game five on Sunday night, the Oilers are 3-2 in this series.
The Tampa Bay Lightning had previously prevented an early elimination and won 4-2 against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The series is now 3-2 to Toronto.
