New Delhi: Union Electronics Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar said in the Lok Sabha that except for certain services, business establishments should not collect personal information including mobile phone number of customers. The minister was replying to a question raised by Suresh MP Kodikunnil in the situation where business establishments and retail outlets are misusing the mobile phone numbers of people who come to buy goods.
Kodikunnil MP Suresh said that he has introduced a private bill in the Lok Sabha on data localization and prevention of unauthorized collection of customer information.
