The Ministry of Interior of the Government of National Unity announced that it has taken over the tasks of securing the headquarters of the Central Bank of Libya.

This came hours after a press conference he held on Sunday evening, in which he said that there was no attack on the Central Bank and that there was nothing by force, and that the decision to change the Central Bank was issued by an official body and is an administrative matter that is not within their jurisdiction, according to him.

Al-Tarabulsi warned against involving security institutions in what he described as political conflicts.

The Minister of Interior called on the House of Representatives and the State Council to reach a consensus on the Central Bank crisis.

Al-Tarabulsi confirmed that all military forces in the capital had handed over the central file to the presidential, parliamentary and state councils.

He said that the deterrence, support, stability, public security and 444 apparatuses have security control within the capital, Tripoli, and have done a lot to achieve justice.

New security coordination

Al-Tarabulsi revealed an agreement to hand over airports and ports to official agencies, during meetings and security coordination in the capital in the last hours.

He added that the plan includes withdrawing all security services in the capital to their main headquarters.

He stressed that no unofficial agencies will be stationed at Misurata and Maitika airports.

He added that only the police forces will secure the Prime Minister’s office, and that all other state institutions, including ministries and others, will be secured by the Ministry of Interior and its personnel.

He said that the intelligence, military intelligence, emergency services and police agencies are the official bodies that will secure the institutions.

He said that an official committee will be formed, headed by representatives from the Ministry of Interior, the Attorney General and Justice, to release the prisoners.
