Central Bank of Iraq sales exceed one billion dollars in a week

/ The total sales of hard currency in US dollars by the Central Bank of Iraq during the past week amounted to more than one billion dollars.

Agency correspondent reported that the Central Bank sold during the past week and for the three days in which the auction was opened, one billion, 90 million, 529 thousand, and 470 dollars, at a daily rate of 218 million, 105 million, and 894 dollars, higher than what it recorded last week, which amounted to 634 million, 373 thousand, and 298 dollars.

The highest dollar sales were on Thursday, when sales reached 229 million, 063 thousand and 145 dollars, while the lowest sales were on Sunday, when sales reached 210 million, 253 thousand and 270 dollars.

Our correspondent indicated that foreign remittance sales during the past week amounted to 998 million, 93 thousand, and 470 dollars, an increase of 90% compared to cash sales, which amounted to 101 million, 690 thousand dollars.

Our correspondent explained that the sales went in the form of cash and transfers abroad to finance foreign trade, while the selling price of documentary credits and international settlements for electronic cards reached 1305 dinars per dollar, while the selling price of transfers abroad and the cash selling price reached 1310 dinars per dollar.
