Central Defender Morato Set to Depart Benfica for Nottingham Forest in €17 Million Deal

The center-back will leave Luz on a permanent basis

Morato is on his way out of Benfica. The center-back is headed to England to strengthen Nottingham Forest.

The Brazilian defender will thus leave Luz after arriving in 2019, still as a junior, from São Paulo.

The deal with Benfica is expected to be finalized as follows: a total of 17 million euros. Eleven paid already and another six mandatory later (i.e., bonuses for very easy-to-achieve goals). The Eagles will also retain 15 percent of a future sale.

It is worth noting that the transfer window closes today in England (as well as in other major leagues, but at different times), so the deal must be concluded; otherwise, Morato will remain at Luz.
