Rosario Central did enough to achieve a victory, but inefficiency deprived them of it and they barely managed to draw 1-1 against Caracas in Venezuela, within the framework of the third date of Group G of the Copa Libertadores 2024.

Edwin Pernía, 25 minutes into the first half, put the local team ahead, while Agustín Módica, 22 minutes into the second half, gave the visiting team equality.

With this result, the Rosario team was partially in second position with four points and would be entering the round of 16.

Rosario Central quickly took over the role of the match and with a sober game, which was accompanied with sharp advances, cornered the local team that suffered every attack from the visiting forwards.

However, when the outlook was not encouraging for Caracas, an individuality by Pernía, in which he accelerated and scored with his left foot between the legs of goalkeeper Jorge Broun, made it 1-0 for the locals.

The goal did not affect the Rosario team, since those led by Miguel Russo followed their script to the letter and continued with the ambitious game, although they did not manage to score and went to half-time with a partial defeat.

In the second half, it was again all for Central, who cornered and demanded goalkeeper Wilker Fariñez on more than one occasion, who drowned out the goal shout from Jaminton Campaz and Tobías Cervera.

Despite controlling the actions, as the minutes passed, Central lost clarity in the game, and there the hand of Russo was seen, who bet on several entries, among them that of Jonathan Gómez, who assisted Modica to score the equality.

At the end of the game, the Rosario team went on the attack and, although they flirted with the goal on several occasions, they were unable to convert and due to their lack of efficiency, they barely took a point from Venezuela.
