The champions of the National Challenge for Maximum Soybean Productivity for the 2022/23 harvest, promoted and announced by the Soja Brasil Strategic Committee (CESB), were announced this Thursday (29), in Indaiatuba (SP). Present for more than a decade in the management of the winners, contributing to the legacy of Brazilian soybeans and supporting farmers to reach the maximum productive and sustainable potential of their crops, BASF was once again present in the management developed during the harvest.

The National and Southeast Champion in this edition of the Challenge was farmer João Lincoln Reis Veiga, from Nepomuceno (MG), who reached a productivity of 134.46 bags per hectare. The management was carried out with Blavity®️, Ativum®️ and Spot®️SC fungicides, in addition to Standak®️ Top for seed treatment. Among the fundamental factors for the conquest, Veiga highlights the suitability of the climate, land, terrain and topography, in addition to technology and quality assistance. “We have been happy to have found excellent technicians who give us a lot of confidence to work. And BASF provides decisive support in this process”, comments the farmer.

Monitoring close to the producer, which aims to guide the balance between soy productivity and sustainability, is at the core of the company’s activities, says the senior manager of Cultivation Marketing and Soy Portfolio of the Agricultural Solutions Division at BASF, Vitor Bernardes. “In yet another year of the CESB Challenge, we proved the success of our strategy: keeping the customer at the center of our decisions. We remain close to farmers, accompanying their challenges and achievements, developing tools to leverage productivity and working side by side to reach historic levels. And so, we will keep it in the next harvests”, he highlights.

For the efficient management of crops, BASF has a portfolio of integrated solutions from seeds, seed treatment, herbicides, fungicidal insecticides and digital agriculture. “At BASF, we believe in the potential of Brazilian agriculture to develop new technologies, improve management, seek sustainability and continue producing food for the world. It is a job that demands knowledge, dedication, resilience and perseverance. We will continue on this journey to provide farmers with an increasingly better experience and strengthen their Legacy”, points out Eduardo Novaes, Marketing Director of the Agricultural Solutions Division at BASF in Brazil.
