What innovative technologies did CESCO showcase at the 2024 Korea Quarantine Technology Conference and Exhibition?
Interview between the Time.news Editor and Chan-hyuk Jeon, CEO of CESCO
Editor: welcome, Chan-hyuk jeon! It’s great to have you with us today, especially after the success of the ‘2024 Korea Quarantine Technology Conference and Exhibition’ at the aT Center. Let’s dive right in! The spotlight at the exhibition was on ‘Seco’, Korea’s frist bed bug detection dog.Can you tell us what inspired the introduction of a bed bug detection dog to the quarantine efforts in Korea?
Chan-hyuk Jeon: Thank you for having me! It’s a pleasure to be here. The introduction of Seco was born out of a growing concern over bed bug infestations, especially with increased international travel. We recognized that traditional detection methods had limitations, and combining the amazing olfactory senses of dogs with our quarantine efforts could significantly enhance our capabilities.Seco is not just a dog; he represents a proactive approach to protecting our living environments from pests.
Editor: That sounds fascinating! During the two-day exhibition, you showcased a variety of environmental hygiene solutions in addition to Seco. Can you elaborate on some of the innovative technologies you presented?
Chan-hyuk Jeon: Certainly! We demonstrated several cutting-edge solutions that address various aspects of environmental hygiene. As an example, our new indoor insect traps like ‘Phoenix Pro’ and ‘Blueon Slim’ utilize hyper control LED traps that offer excellent trapping power while being energy efficient. Additionally, we featured an ‘Air Sterilizer’ with a UV sterilization tunnel that efficiently eliminates viruses, bacteria, and mold. Our focus is not just on pest control but also on thorough virus care and air purification to ensure a safe and clean living space.
Editor: It’s clear that CESCO is at the forefront of K-Quarantine measures. What do you see as the biggest challenge in promoting these advanced solutions to the public?
Chan-hyuk Jeon: One of our main challenges is changing public perceptions regarding hygiene and pest control. Many people believe that conventional methods are sufficient, but the reality is that threats like emerging viruses and resistant pests require a more elegant approach. We aim to educate the public about the importance of integrating advanced solutions into their daily lives, emphasizing that science and innovation play crucial roles in maintaining environmental hygiene.
Editor: Absolutely! Education is key. Additionally, you made a point of eco-friendliness by using kiosks instead of paper leaflets at the exhibition. How significant is sustainability to CESCO’s mission?
Chan-hyuk Jeon: Sustainability is essential to our mission. As a company, we believe that providing effective hygiene solutions doesn’t have to come at the expense of the habitat.By using digital kiosks,we reduced paper waste and made it easier for visitors to access detailed product details. We’re committed to developing products that not only safeguard health but also contribute to a healthier planet.
Editor: It’s inspiring to hear about CESCO’s commitment to sustainability. Looking ahead, what does the future hold for the company and your ongoing efforts in environmental hygiene?
Chan-hyuk Jeon: Our future is focused on continuous innovation and collaboration. We plan to expand our research and development efforts to introduce even more advanced solutions for both pest control and overall hygiene. Additionally, public-private partnerships, like our collaboration with Seco, will be essential in pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in quarantine measures. Our mission is clear: to empower individuals and communities to achieve professional-level hygiene at home.
Editor: Thank you, Chan-hyuk Jeon, for sharing your insights with us today. It’s evident that CESCO is leading the charge in the fight against pests and environmental health. We look forward to seeing how your efforts evolve in the future!
Chan-hyuk Jeon: Thank you for having me! We’re excited to continue this journey and share our progress with everyone.
