In a public statement Signed by its manager Iván Quezada Escobar, the company stressed that “we deeply regret all the inconvenience caused to its customers.”

Quezada Escobar said that “the company has made every effort and made all its resources available to resolve the lack of energy for our customers in the shortest possible time.”

The CGE manager pointed out that the power cuts have already been surpassed in the regions of Maule, Ñuble, Biobío and La Araucanía, missing sectors of the Metropolitan Region and O’Higgins.

“In the regions of El Maule, Ñuble, Biobío and La Araucanía, the situation caused by the frontal system has been overcome and with the expectation of having supplies to all our clients affected by the contingency in the Metropolitan Region during this day, CGE is concentrating all its resources in the O’Higgins Region due to the magnitude of the damage,” it stated.

The position of the electricity distribution company came after the words of President Gabriel Boric, who said that “they should have a little judgment and advance compensation, not wait for the fine to arrive, advance compensation to those who have been without electricity all these days.”

CGE’s attitude was followed by the Saesa Group, which provides services in the south of the country, and Chilquinta, an electricity distributor in the Valparaíso Region.
