The Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court has confirmed the sentences of between 20 and 22 years in prison ratified by the Superior Court of Justice of Asturias to four men for the murder of the councilor of Llanes (Asturias) Javier Ardines in August 2018.

The Supreme Court dismisses in its entirety the appeals of cassation presented by the four convicted against the sentence of the TSJ of Asturias, which in turn ratified the one issued by a jury of the Provincial Court of Oviedo. The confirmed sentences are 22 years in prison for the inducer and the two material perpetrators of the crime, and 20 years for the intermediary.

The ruling has been communicated today by the Supreme Court to the Superior Court of Justice of Asturias and to the Provincial Court of Oviedo, and notified to the parties.

The full sentence, with its legal foundations, will be known in the coming days.
