The Provincial Court of Cáceres has sentenced a bank employee who kept 258,358 euros from customer accounts to three years and three months in prison.

The events occurred between 2012 and 2018 in an office in Cañaveral (Cáceres) when the convicted person with the intention of illegally increasing his assets extracted various amounts of money from twelve bank accounts of different clients.

The total amount of money improperly disposed by the defendant amounted to 337,293 euros, but he and his father returned part of the money, adding the money with which he kept a total of 258,358 euros.

The bank has paid all the injured parties the amounts available to the defendant and which he did not repay.

The defendant has been applied the mitigation of partial reparation for the damage, by returning about 80,000 euros, and having confessed to the crime.

In addition to the custodial sentence, the defendant will have to pay a fine of 1080 euros and compensate the bank for the stolen money.

The sentence is final since it was issued by the court in accordance with the parties and there is no appeal against it.
