Chad McQueen, son of the legendary actor Steve McQueen, who played “Dutch” in the The Karate Kid film series, has passed away at the age of 63, as reported by the APE-MPE.

The actor and race car driver died on Wednesday in Palm Springs, California. His family confirmed his death the following day with a statement published on Chad and Steve’s separate Instagram accounts. The cause of his death has not been disclosed.

His wife Jeanie and his children Chase and Maddison stated in a declaration to Variety: “With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our father, Chad McQueen. His remarkable journey as a loving father to us, along with his unwavering commitment to our mother, truly exemplified a life filled with love and devotion. His passion for racing not only showcased his extraordinary talent but also served as a way to honor his father’s legacy, a testament to the values instilled in him.”

“He transmitted his passion, knowledge, and dedication to us, and we will continue not only his legacy but also that of our grandfather. As a family, we must get through this difficult time and kindly ask for privacy as we remember and celebrate his exceptional life,” they noted, according to Variety.

His acting career

Chad McQueen appeared in the films “New York Cop” (1993) and “Red Line” (1995), but his film career was not as extensive as that of his father’s. However, following in his father’s footsteps, he had a successful career in racing cars, his true passion.
