Japan sweeps 1st to 3rd places
Chaewoon Lee (Suri High School) ranked 5th in the men’s halfpipe at the International Ski Federation (FIS) Snowboard World Cup.
Chaewoon Lee ranked 5th with a score of 86.50 points in the men’s halfpipe finals of the 2024-2025 season FIS Snowboard World Cup held in Copper, Colorado, USA on the 21st (Korean time).
Lee Chae-woon, who ranked first among 44 participants in the preliminaries with 90.00 points, unfortunately failed to advance to the finals.
1st to 3rd place were swept by Japanese players.
Ayumu Hirano won with 97.00 points, and Tosca Yuto (94.75 points) and Hirano Ruka (92.75 points) took second and third place.
Lee Chae-un, who participated in the Snowboard Halfpipe World Cup twice this season, placed 7th in the Chinese competition earlier this month and 5th in this competition.
Last season, he won one silver medal and one bronze medal at the Snowboard World Cup.
In the women’s game, Korean player Chloe Kim (USA) ranked 4th (86.75 points).
The winner was Japan’s Sara Shimizu (90.50 points).
