The head of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, issued a decision to suspend the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Brega Oil Marketing Company, Fouad Balrahim, and refer him to an administrative investigation, and to form an investigation committee headed by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, regarding the causes of congestion at fuel distribution stations.
According to Dbeibah’s issued decision, “the formed committee will investigate with Balrahim the reasons for the congestion at fuel distribution stations, identify those responsible for the congestion, and propose urgent solutions to end it.”
Al-Dabaiba demanded that “the committee submit a report on the results of its work and the investigation records within a maximum period of one week from the date of the decision,” and “Article Five of the decision stipulated that the Board of Directors of the National Oil Corporation shall assign one of the members of the Board of Directors of the Brega Company to assume the duties of the Chairman of the Board during the period of the suspension of the Chairman of the Board.”
