In Valle de Chalco Solidaridad, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador announced that the Chalco-Santa Martha Trolleybus – a project that he will supervise this Sunday – will be inaugurated in February 2024, as an effective, safe and fast transportation alternative in the region.
“It was decided to do a work, a trolleybus from Ixtapaluca, Chalco to Santa Martha and it is already being built,” he noted.
This work means an investment of 10,500 million pesos of federal and state participation. The trolleybus, he said, will be managed by the Mexico City Metro Collective Transportation System and will connect with Line A.
With the purpose of serving the youth and student population in the municipality, the federation will reinforce the Benito Juárez Higher Education Welfare Scholarships.
At the Deportivo Luis Donaldo Colosio, the president announced that the Government of Mexico will double the amount awarded to students in basic education, which currently totals 6,274 preschool, primary and secondary students.
“We have to help the people most in need, enforce, make a reality, our principle that for the good of all, the poor first,” he emphasized.
The Wellbeing Programs in Valle de Chalco Solidaridad benefit:
—15,483 upper secondary education students through scholarships.
—25,253 older adults who receive a pension; Next year the amount will increase 25 percent, so they will receive around 6 thousand pesos every two months.
—The Pension for the Welfare of People with Disabilities will be universal in the municipality and throughout the state; It will be given to girls, boys, adolescents and adults with disabilities from 30 to 64 years old.
-The Young People Building the Future and The School is Ours programs will be reinforced.
The president reiterated that the Government of the Fourth Transformation will continue its work to benefit the interests of the people.
“We are going to continue working; We still have some time left (…) to be serving the people and we have made progress; The foundations, the bases for the transformation of Mexico, have already been established,” he expressed.
Regarding the improvement in salaries in 2024, he announced that in two months it will be defined between the federal government, companies and the labor sector and announced that “there will be a good increase in the minimum wage for the benefit of the workers of Mexico.”
In terms of health, he reiterated that in March 2024 the IMSS Bienestar Health Plan will function optimally to guarantee quality, universal and free medical care in the State of Mexico and the entire country.
