Chalco victims demand removal of sewage

Flood victims in Chalco, State of Mexicoblocked the Mexico-Cuautla federal highway heading to Mexico City for more than seven hours, in protest because after 18 days of being under black water, help has not reached all the affected families.

Rocío Villasana, a resident of Juan Fernández Albarrán Street in the Jacalones II section of the neighborhood, warned that some families are trapped on the second floor of their homes and cannot get out.

The Government of Chalco set up several temporary shelters. One of these spaces is located in the Culturas de México neighborhood, where a pharmacy was set up to assist those affected.
