Ranchi: Former Chief Minister Champai Soren, popularly known as Kolhan Tiger, is once again on a visit to Delhi. Champai Soren took a decisive decision on the next political step after meeting senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi. Along with Champai Soren, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma also met Amit Shah. Later Himanta Biswa Sarma said that Champai Soren will formally join BJP in Ranchi on August 30. Earlier, while going from Ranchi to Delhi, Himanta Biswa Sarma admitted that he has been talking to Champai Soren for five-six months. Now Champai Soren has decided to leave JMM.

Champai Soren had indicated to leave JMM a week ago and went to Delhi. Then after two days he returned to Saraikela. During this time he kept meeting his supporters continuously. On Sunday he again reached Delhi via Kolkata. He stayed at Hotel Taj in Delhi during the day. Late at night Himanta Biswa Sarma took him in his car to meet Amit Shah. He had a conversation with Amit Shah for about half an hour. After which Himanta Biswa Sarma posted on social media on ‘X’ and informed that Champai Soren will join BJP in Ranchi on August 30.
Champai Soren will show his strength after returning to Jharkhand
Earlier, Champai Soren, who reached Delhi for the second time within a week, had clearly said that he has come to the national capital on a two-day visit. Amidst political discussions, Champai Soren stayed at the Taj Hotel instead of Jharkhand Bhawan in Delhi, where he met senior BJP leaders. Now after taking the decision to join the BJP, he is likely to return to Jharkhand on Tuesday or Wednesday. Amidst all this, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma is also going to visit Jharkhand once again on 29 and 30 August.
What assurance does Champai Soren want from Amit Shah?
Political analysts believe that former Chief Minister Champai Soren wanted several assurances before joining the BJP. Champai Soren wants this assurance from Amit Shah and the BJP that if the BJP forms the government in the state after the upcoming assembly elections, he should get the seat of Chief Minister. Apart from this, he also wants to establish his sons in politics with the help of the BJP.
Will resign from cabinet and JMM membership
Political experts believe that after returning to Jharkhand after talking to BJP leaders in Delhi, Champai Soren will resign from all posts including Hemant Soren Cabinet and primary membership of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha. Champai Soren will join BJP by holding a big rally.
