Ranchi: Champey Soren will take oath as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand today. Majority must be proved within 10 days. The Supreme Court will consider Hemant Soren’s plea against ED arrest today at 10.30 am.

Governor CP Radhakrishnan gave permission to form the government after the political uncertainties. Champey Soren, who was the transport minister in Hemant Soren’s cabinet, will take oath as the chief minister today. Champai Soren was elected unanimously in the assembly party meeting. It was alleged that the governor did not take steps to speed up the swearing-in of the chief minister to help the BJP. Later, the governor invited Champai Soren to form the government.

Meanwhile, the judicial custody of former Chief Minister Hemant Soren, who was arrested by the ED, will end today. ED will seek 10-day custody of Soren when he is produced in court today. Soren will be produced in a special court in Ranchi. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court will consider Soren’s petition against the arrest today. The petition will be considered by the bench headed by Justice Sanjiv Khanna at 10.30 am.
