PSG at the Parc des Princes without its CUP. The Collectif Ultras Paris, the main group of Parisian supporters, announced the boycott of the Champions Trophy which will take place on January 3 between the capital club and Toulouse.

Main reason singled out: the “unacceptable” prices imposed by the Professional Football League. On the ticket office, the cheapest tickets are displayed at 45 euros minimum. An offer “contrary to our values and the defense of popular football”. In its press release, the CUP cites in particular the price of tickets during this Wednesday’s trip in the Champions League against Dortmund at less than 20 euros.

“The extras of this masquerade”

The Collectif Ultras Paris thus plans to offer “a stadium without life which should remind [à la LFP] previous editions in China, the United States, or elsewhere. Still in the same press release, the group of supporters attacks “the inability of the Professional Football League to find a host country” despite its desire to “sell it to the highest bidder in contempt of loyal supporters”.

Last explanation displayed, criticism of travel bans for supporters. “The global security context which continues to point the finger at supporters in contempt of their freedom to come and go does not make us want to be extras in this charade,” concludes the CUP.

The only good news for PSG fans is that their trip to Lille for the clash of the 16th day of Ligue 1 this Sunday has been authorized.
