The Met Office has forecast heavy rains in the Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Salem, Dharmapuri, Erode, Theni, Madurai, Sivagangai and Virudhunagar on December 5.

On 04.12.2021, Madurai, Virudhunagar and Tirunelveli districts will receive heavy showers with thundershowers at one or two places along the Central Bay of Bengal and adjoining south-western Bay of Bengal. Showers or thundershowers at a few places in the northern coastal districts and in Puthuvai and Karaikal.

04.12.2021: Hurricane force winds of 50 to 60 kmph and intermittent 70 kmph are likely along the Central Bay of Bengal and the coastal areas of Central and West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh and Orissa.

05.12.2021: Hurricane force winds of 40 to 50 kmph and intermittent 60 kmph are expected along the coasts of North West and North West Bengal, northern Andhra Pradesh and Orissa. Fishermen are advised not to go to these areas.
